Description
Gentle Heat for Cooler Fermentation Conditions
The Mangrove Jack’s Heat Pad 25W provides gentle, continuous heat to help support fermentation when ambient temperatures become too cool.
Low fermentation temperatures can slow yeast activity and increase fermentation time. In some circumstances, temperatures that fall below the recommended range for your yeast may also contribute to sluggish or stalled fermentation.
The Mangrove Jack’s Heat Pad provides a simple way to introduce additional warmth without needing to heat the entire room.
Simple Fermenter Heating
Place a suitable fermentation vessel on the Heat Pad to transfer gentle warmth through the base of the fermenter.
With a power rating of just 25W, the Heat Pad provides low, continuous heat and is inexpensive to operate. It is suitable for home brewers who need additional warmth during cooler weather or in brewing areas where ambient temperatures regularly fall below the preferred fermentation range.
Monitor Your Fermentation Temperature
A Heat Pad provides additional warmth but does not thermostatically control the temperature of your fermenter.
Actual fermentation temperature will depend on factors including ambient temperature, fermenter size and material, liquid volume and fermentation activity. For this reason, we recommend monitoring the fermenter with a suitable brewing thermometer.
If less or more heating is required, switching the Heat Pad with a suitable temperature controller may provide greater control.
Suitable for Home Brewing
The Mangrove Jack’s Heat Pad can provide additional warmth for suitable fermentation vessels used for:
- Beer
- Cider
- Wine
- Mead
- Spirit washes
Always follow the recommended fermentation temperature range for the yeast being used.
